KingsDeal maps have a custom product layer, but the underlying geography comes from open data and open-source mapping projects. This page records those sources, licences, and KingsDeal modifications.

KingsDeal Map
KingsDeal controls the product experience. Open projects provide the underlying map data, tile schema, hosted styles, and renderer.
Geographic data
OpenStreetMap contributors
Streets, places, buildings, and other geographic features come from OpenStreetMap contributors and are available under the Open Database Licence. KingsDeal does not own the underlying OpenStreetMap data.
Tile schema and cartography
OpenMapTiles
The vector tiles use the OpenMapTiles schema. Its code and implementation are BSD-3-Clause; the cartography and visual design features of the map tile schema are provided under CC BY 4.0. Every KingsDeal live map keeps a direct, visible OpenMapTiles credit.
Tile and style delivery
OpenFreeMap
KingsDeal loads the Positron and Dark base styles from OpenFreeMap's public vector-tile service. OpenFreeMap's visible name is optional, but KingsDeal identifies the service here and links to OpenFreeMap's upstream notices.
Map renderer
MapLibre GL JS
Interactive maps are rendered with MapLibre GL JS 6.5.0 under its BSD-3-Clause licence. MapLibre's software notices remain part of the distributed dependency; no graphic MapLibre logo is required on the map.
Base-style lineage
Positron and Dark Matter
The delivered light and dark styles are OpenFreeMap adaptations of the OpenMapTiles Positron and Dark Matter projects. Their design lineage includes the CartoDB basemaps designed by Stamen and Paul Norman for CartoDB Inc. The linked upstream files remain the authoritative license notices.
Address matching
OpenStreetMap Nominatim
User-requested place and address lookups use Nominatim with OpenStreetMap data. KingsDeal sends lookups through a bounded server-side cache and rate-limited queue and does not provide search-as-you-type. The endpoint is configurable so KingsDeal can move to a managed or self-hosted service before traffic exceeds moderate use, before horizontal scaling, or if OSMF requests it.

What KingsDeal changes
KingsDeal adjusts the delivered base styles with Vivid, Night, and Clear palettes, atmospheric lighting, and close-zoom 3D buildings. Listing markers, density and cluster layers, and application map controls are separate KingsDeal overlays. These credits do not imply endorsement of KingsDeal by any source project or contributor.
